Metrology Technician I

How will you make an impact?
The function of the Metrology Technician I is to perform equipment calibration and maintenance, primarily in-house, for both internal (TSS) and external customers. This includes administrative tasks required for the operation of the calibration laboratory and maintenance of equipment records
What will you do?
- Help maintain available equipment inventory and interface with process shareholders
- Communicate with regional operations staff for coordination of equipment transfer – internal and client-supplied.
- Assist in developing and supporting future calibration capabilities.
- Communicate with vendors to facilitate external calibrations and repairs.
- Supporting ISO-17025 accredited services including uncertainty analysis
- Maintaining personal ISO 17025 training by participation in Interlaboratory Comparisons / Proficiency Tests (ILC/PTs)
- Other duties as assigned
In House Calibration Tasks:
- Lightmeters
- Sound Level Meters
- Temperature and Humidity instrumentation
- Analog pressure gauges and manometers (Pressure, Vacuum, and Magnehelic gauges)
- Cold Aerosol Generators
- Thermal Aerosol Generators
- Flowmeters
- Tachometers
- Anemometers
- Digital Manometers/Transmitters
- Flowhoods (Shortridge Air Data Multimeters)
- Electrical Meters (DMM) and Electrical Safety Analyzers (ESA)
- UV meters/sensors
- Ellab and TCs
- Wind Tunnel
- Potential repairs on all above equipment
- Calibration report generation/revision using eData
- Assist with the upkeep of our proprietary equipment database
- Assist the metrology administrator with the maintenance and correction of calibration certificates
- Collection of equipment in need of service
- Shipping/receiving to/from vendors, including calling for RMAs, creating/closing POs

Education and Experience
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. 2-year or 4-year degree preferred.
- Requires 2 years of relevant experience.
Requires 2 years of relevant customer service, mechanical, and/or electrical experience. - Maintain a valid driver's license
- A combination of education, training, and related experience may meet requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to continually learn new services.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision by employing effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
